The term Sustainable Travel Tourism arose by the UNWTO for making travel more sustainable for people of 2022.

Book Direct Flights Whenever Possible:
Booking direct flight will lead to less carbon emission leading to indirect sustainable life.

Plan a Long Holiday and Travel Slow:

A long vacation refreshed ones life to think for a different perspective of leading the same.

Choose Eco-Friendly Transportation Options:

Like using public transports, using e-vehicles, walking are some eco-friendly transportation ways.

Invest in Zero-Waste Travel Items:

This includes reusable or now a days edible cutlery is also available which are nothing but a investment to zero waste travel items.

Show Your Support to the Local Businesses:

This means choosing to stay at locally-owned accommodations like ecolodges, homestays, and guesthouses instead of large hotel chains and luxurious resorts, eating at local restaurants, buying hand-made souvenirs from local stores etc.

A day trip to Mehandipur Balaji from Gurgaon costs between ₹8,500 and ₹12,000 for a small group, depending on the vehicle chosen. The road distance is about 220–230 km via Alwar (Rajasthan), taking roughly 4–5 hours one way.

For a solo traveller or couple, a sedan or SUV cab round trip costs around ₹3,500–₹6,000 including driver allowance and toll.

For families or groups of 8–15 people, hiring a tempo traveller from Gurgaon is more economical per head- a 12-seater tempo traveller for a Mehandipur Balaji day trip costs ₹10,000–₹15,000 for the round trip, inclusive of fuel, driver charges, and tolls, since minimum billing is often 250 km per day for outstation trips.

Additional budget items include prasad/offerings (₹200–₹500), parking (₹50–₹100), and food en route (₹150–₹300 per person). Since Mehandipur Balaji is usually visited as a single-day darshan, most pilgrims avoid overnight stays, keeping accommodation costs at zero.

Booking a tempo traveller on rent is especially popular for this route among groups traveling from Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Delhi for Tuesday and Saturday darshan, which tend to be the busiest days. The total budget for a family of 4–6 traveling together, including tempo traveller hire, food, and offerings, generally falls between ₹8,000 and ₹12,000.

FAQs

Q: What is the cheapest way to reach Mehandipur Balaji from Gurgaon?

A: Sharing a tempo traveller or bus with a group is the most economical option, costing far less per person than a private cab.

Q: How many hours does the Gurgaon to Mehandipur Balaji trip take?

A: Around 4–5 hours one way by road via Alwar, making it feasible as a single-day round trip.

Q: Is Tuesday the best day to visit Mehandipur Balaji?

A: Tuesdays and Saturdays are considered auspicious and see the highest footfall, so book your tempo traveller or cab in advance for these days.

I’ve been thinking about planning a peaceful weekend getaway somewhere in Alberta, preferably near a lake where I can just slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Most people immediately suggest Lake Louise or Moraine Lake, but I feel like there must be plenty of other beautiful lakes that are a little less crowded and better for a relaxing weekend.I recently came across this article that explores a few options, including Sylvan Lake, Gull Lake, Abraham Lake, Lesser Slave Lake, Upper Kananaskis Lake, Waterton Lake, and Maligne Lake:

It got me curious about what locals and frequent Alberta travellers would personally recommend. If you wanted a quiet weekend by a lake in Alberta, where would you go?
I’d especially love recommendations for places that are good for relaxing, walking, photography, enjoying nature, or simply getting away from busy city life for a couple of days.
Would love to hear about your favourite lake getaway in Alberta!

Spent a few days around Trang An and Bai Dinh recently and did my homework on the food, so here is a guide for anyone heading to Ninh Binh. The region is famous for two things: mountain goat (de nui) and crispy burnt rice (com chay). Goats here graze on limestone karsts, so the meat is lean and firm - very different from goat elsewhere in Vietnam.
Goat dishes to try (prices from a local menu, 2026):
  • Goat salad with lime (de tai chanh) ~220,000 VND - thin slices, barely blanched, tossed with lemongrass, lime leaves and sesame. Eaten with green banana, starfruit and rice crackers. Start here.
  • Grilled goat slab (de nuong tang) ~300,000 VND - grilled in one piece and carved at the table.
  • Goat steamed with perilla ~300,000 VND - kept warm on a burner at the table, good on cooler days.
  • Goat hotpot 450,000-550,000 VND - the usual finisher for groups of 4-6.
Com chay: rice fried into golden crackers, served with a meat sauce poured over (130,000-150,000 VND). Eat it hot at a restaurant - much better than the packaged version sold as souvenirs.
Practical tip: if you do the classic one-day loop (Trang An boat tour in the morning, Bai Dinh Pagoda in the afternoon), have lunch on the road between the two sites instead of going back to the city - saves a good 30-60 minutes. We ate at Thang Long Restaurant in Chi Phong hamlet, roughly halfway between Trang An and Bai Dinh - a family place that has been serving travelers for about 20 years, big enough for tour groups, set menus from 150,000 VND per person. Their English menu is at nhahangdenuininhbinh.vn/en if you want to check prices before you go. Reservations recommended on weekends (+84 975 155 458).
Boat tour tickets went up to 300,000 VND from January 2026 (many blogs still say 250,000), Bai Dinh entry is free (stupa 50,000 VND), Hoa Lu Ancient Capital 20,000 VND. Happy to answer questions if anyone is planning a trip.

Bali tour can a wide range of activities and destinations, allowing you to experience the island's stunning landscapes, rich culture, and beautiful beaches. Here's a suggested Bali tour itinerary featuring popular attractions and activities over 5 to 7 days :
Bali Tour Packages: Unlocking a Seamless and Enriched Island Experience
Bali, the famed “Island of the Gods,” offers a captivating blend of stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and spiritual charm. While independent travel is an option, Bali tour packages play a crucial role in ensuring a more streamlined, cost-effective, and enriching experience for many visitors. These packages offer a multitude of benefits, catering to diverse travel styles and preferences.
One of the primary advantages of opting for a Bali tour package is convenience and hassle-free travel . Reputable tour operators typically handle all logistical aspects, including flights, airport transfers, accommodation, and often, a pre-planned itinerary with guided tours and activities. This alleviates the stress of research, booking individual components, and navigating an unfamiliar destination, allowing travelers to relax and fully immerse themselves in their vacation.
Cost-effectiveness is another significant draw. Tour companies often have access to negotiated rates for hotels, transport, and attractions, which can translate into considerable savings compared to booking everything separately. Group packages, in particular, can offer substantial discounts, making the dream of a Balinese holiday more accessible.

Planning a trip during Janmashtami 2026 requires careful preparation because the Janmashtami peak rush in Mathura and Vrindavan brings a huge number of devotees to the region. Booking your hotel and Tempo Traveller in Delhi several weeks in advance can help you avoid last-minute availability and higher prices.

During the Janmashtami peak rush, roads near major temples can become heavily congested, while some areas may have traffic restrictions. For families and groups, booking an Urbania rental Delhi to Mathura can offer comfortable seating and make the journey easier. An experienced driver familiar with festival traffic can also help select suitable routes and parking points.

It is better to arrive before the main celebration and keep your itinerary flexible. Instead of covering too many places, focus on important temples, ghats, and Janmashtami celebrations. Since midnight is the traditional time of Krishna's birth, allow extra time for late-night darshan and return travel.

FAQs

When does the Janmashtami peak rush start in Mathura and Vrindavan?
The rush generally increases significantly around the main festival period, with heavy crowds expected before and during Janmashtami.

Should I book a Tempo Traveller in advance?
Yes. During the Janmashtami peak rush, vehicle demand increases, so early booking is recommended.

Is Mathura-Vrindavan suitable for family travel during Janmashtami?
Yes, but families should plan carefully, stay together, and avoid the most crowded areas during peak hours.

Why Opt for a 100-Hour Yoga Teacher Training?
If you’re wondering why you should choose a 100-hour course instead of a 200-hour program, here are some key reasons why this option might be the right fit:

Shorter Time Commitment
One of the biggest advantages of the 100-hour program is its shorter duration. If you're unable to take a month off or prefer a less intense commitment, this is a great choice. You can still gain valuable insights into yoga while balancing other aspects of your life.
