Hi everyone! I’m looking for some inspiration for luxury travel in 2026. I’m particularly interested in destinations that combine beautiful scenery, unique local experiences, excellent hotels, and great food.

I’d love to hear from travelers who have recently visited a luxury destination that genuinely impressed them. What destination would you recommend, and what made your trip special?

I’m also interested in discovering lesser-known destinations rather than only the usual luxury hotspots.

If you’re planning a luxury trip in 2026, I’d definitely look beyond the usual popular destinations and consider a few less obvious options too.

In my opinion, Dubai, Kyoto, and Zurich are three great choices. Dubai has a fantastic mix of luxury hotels, fine dining, shopping, and unique desert experiences. If you prefer something quieter and more cultural, Kyoto is a beautiful option. The traditional Japanese culture, peaceful surroundings, and amazing food make the luxury experience feel quite special.

If you want a combination of comfort and beautiful scenery, Zurich is another great choice. You can enjoy high-end hotels and excellent dining while also having easy access to the Swiss Alps.

For something a little different, I’d also consider Vienna or Tbilisi instead of sticking only to the well-known luxury destinations. These Luxury Cities offer beautiful architecture, local culture, good hotels, and great food, while often feeling more relaxed and less crowded than some of the major hotspots.

Personally, I prefer destinations where luxury comes with authentic local experiences and culture. So, depending on your interests, Kyoto or Vienna would be two places I’d definitely consider for 2026.

Sri Lanka would be high on my list. We spent a few nights around Hatton in a tea estate bungalow, then went to Galle and stayed inside the fort. We booked the trip with Boketto Travels, and they had also added Yala to the itinerary, so we ended up doing a safari before heading back to the coast. The mix of misty tea country, old streets, seafood and the safari made it feel like much more than just a luxury hotel trip.

If you’re looking for a luxury destination, you can visit India in 2026. From the royal charm of Udaipur to the heritage appeal of Bhopal, India offers plenty of unique luxury experiences. For a memorable heritage stay, you can consider SADAR MANZIL HERITAGE by Atmosphere in Bhopal and Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur. Both destinations are ideal for travellers who want to enjoy history, culture, beautiful architecture and a comfortable luxury stay.

Yes, if you're seeking a luxury get-away in 2026 Vietnam is a great destination to check out. It has a stunning combination of stunning natural sites, culture, resorts, and amazing food – often at a lower price tag than traditional luxury destinations.

Spend a few days on a luxury cruise in Ha Long Bay, take a walk down beautiful streets in Hoi An, relax at the beach-side resorts in Da Nang or indulge yourself in amazing food, art & culture in Hanoi. All of these have a lot of things to offer to you.

If you're a lover of private villas, healing retreats, awe-inspiring scenery, and amazing food, then Bali is also a fantastic choice.

However, I would recommend opting for destinations first by the kind of experiences and accommodation you prefer, and not just for the lowest prices. You may also find it interesting to explore travel packages if you like your most important experiences of a trip being pre-arranged. EaseOnTrip is one example of what to consider when planning holiday packages.

In 2026 I'd rank Vietnam as one of my top picks for a luxurious journey that is celebratory, yet includes diverse activities.
