When is the best time to go to Goa?

The best time to visit Goa is November and mid-February to May when the temperature is between 20 ° C and 33 ° C. This avoids the monsoon and the very high tourist season of December-January, so the beaches are not very crowded and good deals can be found on planes and rooms. Palolem Beach in Goa, India.

The best time to visit Goa is between November and March when the weather is at its finest. During these months, the temperature hovers between 20°C and 30°C, providing pleasant weather ideal for beach activities, sightseeing, and experiencing the vibrant Goan culture. It’s also the peak tourist season, so you’ll find lively events, including the famous Sunburn Festival and various beach parties.

If you plan to visit the Deltin Goa, a popular casino destination in the region, this period is also perfect as it coincides with a festive atmosphere and a lively nightlife. The cooler temperatures make it more enjoyable to explore Goa’s rich heritage during the day and indulge in its entertainment hubs at night.

However, if you prefer fewer crowds and lower prices, consider visiting between April and June, right before the monsoon. While the weather can be hot, you can still enjoy Goa’s beauty in relative peace. Avoid July to September, as the monsoon season brings heavy rains, making it less convenient for beach activities and travel.

I went in November and stayed mostly around South Goa. Palolem and Agonda were lovely, especially in the evenings when things were a little quieter. We travelled with Boketto Travels, and our itinerary included beach stops, local markets and a day exploring the old Portuguese-style neighbourhoods. We also tried a few small seafood places recommended along the way. If you enjoy a relaxed holiday, I’d pick November over December. Just keep in mind that hotels get much more expensive around Christmas and New Year.
