Things I Learned While Traveling in the Philippines

The Philippines is one of those places that surprised me in a good way. With more than 7,000 islands, every stop feels a little different.

One of my favorite memories was watching the sunset in El Nido. The water looked unreal, and the small boats moving between the islands made everything feel peaceful. I also loved walking through the old streets of Intramuros in Manila and trying local food at small family-run places.

Some of the most visited spots are El Nido, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Siargao, and Coron. Each has its own vibe, from beautiful beaches to diving spots and nature adventures.

A few tips:
• Carry cash when visiting smaller islands.
• Expect ferry and flight schedules to change because of weather.
• Respect local customs and marine life.
• Don't leave trash on beaches or coral areas.
• Try local dishes instead of only eating familiar food.

Recent tourism news shows the country continues to welcome millions of visitors and is preparing major tourism events while promoting cultural and food experiences across the islands.

For anyone planning a trip, I found this guide on travel to Philippines useful for getting ideas on places to visit and travel planning.
