Crossing Oman/United Arab Emirates by bus

Hello Everyone, I am trying to determine if it is possible to cross the border by bus from Sohar to Dubia around the end of January 2026. A travel advisor in Dubia said the border is closed however l can book a ticket from a bus company website. Any insight would be appreciated. I am from Canada if this has any implications. As well, l read on a website that an evisa is required to cross a land border, the one received upon arrival at the Muscat airport will not be accepted. I am coming from London, UK to Muscat and will only be in the country 4 days. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much in advance

As of now, tourists cannot cross from Oman to the UAE by public bus. Land borders are open for private cars, but buses selling tickets online often cancel or reroute at the last minute. For Canadians, the UAE requires a visa in advance for land entry, visa on arrival only applies when flying. The Oman visa you get on arrival in Muscat does not change that. If timing matters, the reliable option is to fly Muscat to Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
