I’ve been reminiscing about my trip to Turkey lately, and I realized how perfectly these three spots complement each other. If you're planning a trip, here is a quick breakdown of what makes each location so special:
1. Istanbul: Where East Meets West
Istanbul is a city of layers—history, food, and culture are everywhere you look.- Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosque: You can’t miss these architectural wonders; the history inside those walls is palpable.
- Bosphorus Cruise: Taking a ferry at sunset is the best way to see the city skyline and the bridges connecting Europe and Asia.
- Galata Tower: Head here for a 360-degree view of the city—it’s the perfect spot for photography.
2. Cappadocia: The Land of Fairy Chimneys
This is probably the most Instagrammable place on earth, but it’s even better in person.- Hot Air Balloon Ride: It’s an early wake-up call, but seeing hundreds of balloons rise over the rock formations at dawn is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
- Goreme Open Air Museum: Explore the ancient cave churches and frescoes carved directly into the rock.
- Stay in a Cave Hotel: For a unique experience, I highly recommend booking a room in a traditional cave dwelling.
3. Fethiye: The Turquoise Coast
After all that walking and exploring, Fethiye is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the Mediterranean.- Ölüdeniz & Blue Lagoon: The water here is incredibly clear. It’s also one of the best spots in the world for paragliding if you're an adrenaline junkie.
- Butterfly Valley: Accessible only by boat or a very steep hike, this hidden beach is a serene escape from the crowds.
- Saklikent Canyon: A great day trip where you can walk through the icy waters of one of the deepest canyons in the world.
