We did the Manali to Leh ride a while back and the paperwork was honestly a bigger headache than we expected. We had to check the IDP, motorcycle licence, permits and a few other things before leaving, and there were a couple of times when we thought we had everything sorted and then realised we were missing something. We went through Boketto for the trip, so we had someone to help us figure out what needed to be done. Once all that was out of the way, the actual ride was the easy part. The route was amazing, especially the smaller stretches where there was barely anyone around. I’d definitely keep a few extra days in the plan though, because weather can easily mess with your schedule in the mountains.
