Welcome to forum4travel, an online travel community where members can ask questions, share travel advice, publish trip reports, upload photographs and connect with travellers from around the world.

This guide explains how to use the main functions and features of the forum.

Creating an Account

You can browse much of forum4travel without an account, but registration is required to post messages, reply to discussions and use many of the community features.

To create an account:

  1. Select Register near the top of the page.
  2. Register using your Google account or enter a username, email address and password.
  3. Enter the requested profile information.
  4. Complete the verification process.
  5. Agree to the forum terms and privacy policy.
  6. Submit your registration.
Your username is displayed alongside the messages and content you publish, so choose a suitable name that you are comfortable using publicly.

You may need to confirm your email address before all account features become available.

Logging In

Select Log in and enter your username or email address and password.

Depending on your device and account settings, you may also be able to log in using:

  • Google
  • A saved passkey
  • Your browser or device password manager
Select Stay logged in when using a trusted personal device. Avoid this option when using a public or shared computer.

Use Forgot your password? on the login page if you need to reset your password.

Finding the Right Travel Forum

The forum is organised into geographical regions, countries and specialist travel subjects.

The main destination sections include:

  • Africa
  • The Americas
  • Asia
  • Australasia
  • Europe
  • The Middle East
  • Theme parks
  • General travel subjects
Many sections contain smaller sub-forums for individual countries, cities, states or regions.

Before starting a discussion, choose the forum that most closely matches your subject. For example, a question about visiting Perth should normally be posted in the Western Australia Travel Forum rather than the general Australia section.

General subjects such as travel gear, solo travel, digital nomad life, finding a travel companion or round-the-world travel can be posted in the appropriate general travel forum.

Starting a New Discussion

A new discussion is called a thread.

To start one:

  1. Open the most relevant forum.
  2. Select Post thread.
  3. Enter a clear and descriptive title.
  4. Write your question, recommendation, review or travel story.
  5. Add photographs, links or other information where useful.
  6. Check your post before submitting it.
  7. Select Post thread to publish it.
A useful title helps other members understand your question. Instead of writing “Need help”, use something more descriptive, such as:

Best way to travel from Rome Airport to the city centre?

When asking for travel advice, include useful details such as:

  • Your approximate travel dates
  • The places you plan to visit
  • Your budget
  • The number and ages of travellers
  • Your preferred style of travel
  • Any accessibility or dietary requirements
  • What research you have already completed
Never publish passport numbers, booking references, home addresses, payment details or other sensitive personal information.

Replying to a Discussion

Open a thread and use the reply box near the bottom of the page.

Write your response and select Post reply.

Try to keep replies relevant to the original subject. When discussing a different destination or question, it may be better to start a separate thread.

Quoting Another Member

Use Reply or Quote beneath a member’s post when you want to respond directly to something they wrote.

The quoted section will be added to your reply, making it clear which message you are answering.

You can also highlight a specific part of a post before choosing the quote or reply option. Quoting only the relevant sentence can make long discussions easier to follow.

When several messages need to be answered together, use the multi-quote feature where available and insert the selected quotes into one reply.

Mentioning a Member

Type the @ symbol followed by a member’s username to mention them.

For example:

@TravellerName

The member may receive an alert that they have been mentioned. Mentions should only be used when the person is relevant to the discussion.

Using the Message Editor

The message editor provides tools for formatting your content.

Depending on your device, the toolbar may include:

  • Bold, italic and underlined text
  • Headings and text size
  • Bulleted and numbered lists
  • Links
  • Images
  • Smilies and emojis
  • Quotes
  • Spoiler sections
  • Embedded media
  • Text alignment
  • Undo and redo
The editor also supports BB code for members who prefer to format messages manually.

Use formatting to make longer travel reports easier to read, but avoid excessive colours, very large text or unnecessary formatting.

Adding Photographs and Attachments

Photographs can make destination guides, trip reports and travel questions much more useful.

When creating a thread or reply:

  1. Select Attach files or the image button.
  2. Choose an image from your computer, tablet or phone.
  3. Wait for the upload to finish.
  4. Insert the image as a thumbnail or full-sized image where the option is available.
  5. Add a helpful description or caption.
  6. Submit your message.
Only upload photographs you own or have permission to share. Avoid uploading images containing private documents, personal booking details or people who have not agreed to appear publicly.

Image file sizes and upload permissions may depend on your account and the forum settings.

Embedding Videos and Other Media

Links from supported websites may automatically appear as embedded content.

Supported services may include YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Spotify and other recognised platforms.

Paste the public link into the message editor or use the media button. Preview the message to check that the content displays correctly.

Some embedded content requires permission for third-party cookies before it can be displayed.

Using Reactions

Reactions provide a quick way to acknowledge a useful, enjoyable or interesting message without adding a separate reply.

Select the reaction control beneath a post and choose an available reaction.

Use reactions genuinely. They help recognise members who contribute helpful travel information and experiences.

Editing or Removing Your Content

Where your account permissions allow it, an Edit option will appear beneath your message.

Use it to:

  • Correct spelling or factual errors
  • Add an important update
  • Repair a broken link
  • Improve formatting
  • Clarify something that could be misunderstood
Editing or deleting may be limited after a certain period. Contact a moderator through the report function when an important change is required but the editing option is no longer available.

Reporting a Post

Use Report when you see spam, abusive behaviour, misleading commercial promotion, unsafe content or a possible breach of the forum rules.

Briefly explain why you are reporting the content. Reports are sent privately to the moderation team and are not shown publicly in the discussion.

Do not start an argument with a suspected spammer or abusive member. Reporting the content allows the moderation team to review it properly.

Watching Forums and Threads

Watching a forum or thread helps you follow subjects that interest you.

When viewing a discussion, select Watch or Watch thread. Depending on your preferences, you may receive:

  • An on-site alert
  • An email notification
  • A push notification
You may also be able to watch an entire forum, such as the Japan Travel Forum, to receive updates about new discussions in that section.

To stop receiving updates, return to the forum or thread and select Unwatch.

Alerts and Notifications

Alerts notify you about activity connected with your account, including:

  • Replies to watched threads
  • Quotes of your messages
  • Reactions to your posts
  • Mentions of your username
  • New content in watched forums
  • Other account or moderation activity
Select the alerts icon near your username to review them.

Notification choices can normally be adjusted through your account preferences. You may choose whether to receive on-site alerts, emails or browser push notifications for different activities.

Private Conversations

Private conversations allow registered members to communicate away from public discussions.

To begin a conversation:

  1. Open the conversations area from your account menu.
  2. Select Start a new conversation.
  3. Enter one or more member usernames.
  4. Add a title.
  5. Write your message.
  6. Select Start conversation.
Private conversations should still follow the forum rules. Be cautious when sharing personal information, arranging meetings or responding to unsolicited commercial messages.

forum4travel cannot verify every member’s identity, experience or intentions.

Using the Social Feed

The Social Feed presents recent forum activity in a modern scrolling format.

The Main Feed displays recent discussions and replies from across the community. Registered members may also have access to My Feed, which can show more personalised activity.

From the Social Feed you can:

  • Read recent posts
  • Open the full discussion
  • Reply to a thread
  • Load existing replies
  • View reactions
  • Switch to the traditional forum view
Use the Social Feed for discovering recent conversations. Use the main forum categories when you want to browse a particular destination or subject.

When uploading media:

Rishikesh is one of India's most sacred destinations for Lord Shiva devotees. Surrounded by the Himalayas and the holy Ganga, the city offers a peaceful atmosphere where ancient temples, meditation, and spirituality come together. If you are planning a journey by Delhi to Rishikesh tempo traveller, visiting these famous Shiva temples should be part of your itinerary.

Which Shiva Temples Should You Visit in Rishikesh?

One of the most famous Shiva temples in Rishikesh is Trayambakeshwar Temple, also known as Tera Manzil Temple. Located near Lakshman Jhula, this 13-storey temple houses several shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and other Hindu deities while offering beautiful views of the Ganga. Another must-visit shrine is Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, believed to be the place where Lord Shiva consumed the poison during Samudra Manthan. Devotees also visit Veerbhadra Mahadev Temple, Chandreshwar Mahadev Temple, each known for its spiritual importance and peaceful surroundings.

If you are traveling with family or a group, tempo traveler rent in Delhi for Rishikesh provides a comfortable and convenient option. The Delhi to Rishikesh round trip costs start from Rs. 8,500 per day, making group travel affordable while allowing you to explore multiple temples without rushing.

A comfortable road journey combined with a Rishikesh tour, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Uttarakhand pilgrimage, and Shiva temple tour creates a memorable spiritual experience for every traveler.

You can post this as a forum reply:

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines generally operates from Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York for most international flights. Terminal 4 offers check-in counters, baggage services, security screening, lounges, dining options, and shopping facilities. Since terminal assignments can occasionally change due to operational requirements, it's always a good idea to verify your terminal on your flight confirmation or with the airline before traveling. Arriving at least three hours before an international flight is recommended to allow enough time for check-in and security

The Char Dham Yatra covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath is the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, and travelling by Tempo Traveller from Faridabad is the preferred choice for family and community groups making this journey together.

The complete Char Dham circuit from Faridabad is 12 to 14-day itinerary covering: Faridabad → Barkot (Yamunotri) → Uttarkashi (Gangotri) → Guptkashi/Sitapur (Kedarnath) → Badrinath → return via Rishikesh and Haridwar. Total road distance covered is approximately 1,800 to 2,200 km depending on the route.

Tempo Traveller pricing for a 12-day Char Dham package from Faridabad starts from ₹85,000 to ₹1,10,000 per vehicle depending on size and inclusions. Note that Kedarnath darshan requires a separate jeep from Gaurikund to Sonprayag- the Tempo Traveller parks at Guptkashi and the group uses local jeeps for this section.

The best season for Char Dham from Faridabad is May to June and September to October. Portals open in late April or early May each year- book your Tempo Traveller simultaneously with your darshan registration. We provide experienced Char Dham drivers with knowledge of alternate routes and permit requirements.
