Trekking Seasons in Nepal

  1. Autumn (September to November) – The Best Time for Trekking
    • Overview: Autumn is widely regarded as the best season for trekking in Nepal. The skies are clear, the temperatures are moderate, and visibility is excellent, making it perfect for long treks.
    • Weather: Post-monsoon, the weather stabilizes, offering clear blue skies and dry trails. Daytime temperatures in the mountains are pleasant, averaging 10-15°C (50-59°F), while nights can drop to freezing in high altitudes.
    • Best Treks:
      • Everest Base Camp Trek
      • Annapurna Circuit Trek
      • Langtang Valley Trek
      • Manaslu Circuit Trek
    • Tips: This is peak trekking season, so book your flights, accommodations, and permits early to avoid crowds.
  2. Spring (March to May) – The Second Best Season
    • Overview: Spring offers warmer temperatures and vibrant landscapes, with rhododendron forests in full bloom. It is also an excellent time for mountaineering expeditions.
    • Weather: Temperatures rise during this period, ranging from 15-20°C (59-68°F) in the lower regions. Higher altitudes still have cool temperatures, but the weather remains stable. Skies are generally clear, although occasional cloud cover can occur in the late afternoons.
    • Best Treks:
      • Mardi Himal Trek
      • Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
      • Upper Mustang Trek
      • Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek
    • Tips: Prepare for warmer conditions at lower elevations and carry gear for colder nights in high-altitude regions.
  3. Winter (December to February) – Challenging Yet Rewarding
    • Overview: Winter trekking in Nepal is possible, but conditions are much colder and snow often blocks higher-altitude trails. However, it offers solitude and snow-covered landscapes for trekkers who prefer less crowded routes.
    • Weather: Temperatures in high altitudes can fall below -10°C (14°F), with daytime temperatures around 5-10°C (41-50°F). Lower elevations experience milder conditions, but the nights remain cold.
    • Best Treks:
      • Everest Panorama Trek
      • Lower Annapurna Region (Ghorepani Poon Hill)
      • Helambu Trek
    • Tips: Trekking gear for cold weather is essential. Be cautious of snow, especially at higher passes like Thorong La on the Annapurna Circuit.
  4. Monsoon (June to August) – Less Favorable, but Still Possible
    • Overview: Monsoon season brings heavy rainfall, which makes most trails muddy and leech-infested. Landslides are common, and clouds often obscure mountain views. However, this is the best time to trek in rain-shadow areas like Upper Mustang and Dolpo.
    • Weather: High humidity and temperatures averaging 20-25°C (68-77°F) in lower elevations. Rain showers are frequent and often last for several hours.
    • Best Treks:
      • Upper Mustang Trek
      • Dolpo Region Trek
    • Tips: Pack rain gear and expect slippery trails. Keep an eye on the weather forecast to avoid landslide-prone areas.

Monthly Breakdown of Weather and Conditions

  • September to November: Clear skies, mild temperatures, perfect for popular treks like Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit.
  • December to February: Cold, especially at higher altitudes, but good for lower-elevation treks.
  • March to May: Warmer, with blooming rhododendrons, ideal for Annapurna and Langtang treks.
  • June to August: Monsoon rains, best for treks in the rain-shadow regions like Mustang and Dolpo.

General Tips for Trekking in Nepal

  1. Permits: Trekkers need a TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card and permits for national parks and conservation areas.
  2. Packing Essentials:
    • Layered clothing for temperature variations.
    • Rain gear during the monsoon.
    • Good trekking boots to handle different terrain.
  3. Fitness: While trekking in Nepal doesn’t require you to be an athlete, good physical preparation helps. Train with regular hikes and cardio exercises.
  4. Altitude Sickness: Be cautious about altitude sickness, especially on treks like Everest Base Camp or Manaslu Circuit. Acclimatization is key, so include rest days in your itinerary.
  5. Accommodation: Tea houses are available along most trekking routes. They offer basic meals and lodging, but book in advance during peak seasons.
  6. Hydration: Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration and altitude sickness. Bring water purification tablets or a SteriPEN for safe drinking water.
  7. Best Time for Festivals: Plan your trek around cultural festivals like Dashain or Tihar to experience the rich cultural heritage of Nepal.

Choosing the right time to trek in Nepal can define your experience, whether you are looking for scenic beauty, cultural experiences, or a challenging adventure. Each season brings different highlights, so plan according to your preferences and trek with safety in mind.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently planning my next holiday and thinking about trying something different from the usual hotel vacation. I've always enjoyed travelling to coastal places, so this time I'm considering exploring a destination by boat and visiting several islands or small coastal towns during one trip.

I don't have any sailing experience, so I'm particularly interested in options with a skipper. I've been comparing different types of boats and destinations, and during my research I came across this website: https://www.viravira.co/de

There seem to be quite a few different options, which is useful when you're not sure what type of boat would suit you best. I'm currently considering Greece or Croatia, but I haven't made up my mind yet.

Has anyone here tried a sailing holiday as a beginner? I'd be interested to hear what you enjoyed most and whether there was anything you wish you'd known before booking.

Planning your first trip to India is exciting, but deciding where to go can be confusing. With so many cities, historic sites, and cultural experiences, it is easy to try to fit too much into one vacation.

For many first-time visitors, the Golden Triangle is a fantastic place to start. The classic route connects Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, giving you the chance to experience India's history, architecture, food, markets, and culture in one manageable journey.

golden-triangle-vacation-packages-from-usa-YOYO-Trips-India.webp

If you are traveling from the USA and have around a week to explore, six days can give you a good introduction to India without making the trip feel too rushed.

Why the Golden Triangle Should Be on Your List

India can feel overwhelming when you're visiting for the first time, with so many cities, landmarks, and experiences to choose from. That's where the Golden Triangle makes things easier. Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur bring together some of the best-known sights and experiences in North India, making the route a popular choice for first-time visitors.

From exploring historic streets and monuments in Delhi to seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra and discovering the royal palaces and colorful markets of Jaipur, you get a good mix of history, culture, food, and everyday Indian life in one trip. If you want to experience all three cities without spending too much time planning hotels, transportation, and sightseeing yourself, a 6-day Delhi Agra Jaipur tour package can cover the main highlights in a comfortable six-day itinerary, starting from $184 per person.

The route is also easy to understand for travelers coming from the USA. You begin in Delhi, continue to Agra, and then travel to Jaipur before returning to Delhi. Each destination has its own character, so the journey never feels like you're seeing the same type of place twice.

A 6-Day Look at Your Golden Triangle Journey

Day 1 – Arrive in Delhi

Your journey begins in Delhi. After airport pickup, check into your hotel and take some time to relax after your international flight. If you have the energy, you can explore a nearby market or enjoy a quiet evening.

Day 2 – Explore Delhi

Spend the day discovering Old and New Delhi. Visit landmarks such as Jama Masjid, India Gate, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, and other important sights. You can also explore Chandni Chowk for a taste of Delhi's busy markets and local food.

Day 3 – Delhi to Agra

Travel from Delhi to Agra by private vehicle. After checking into your hotel, visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. If you have time, Mehtab Bagh is also a great spot for enjoying views of the Taj Mahal.

Day 4 – Agra to Jaipur

Continue toward Jaipur with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri. Explore its impressive Mughal architecture before continuing to Jaipur for your overnight stay.

Day 5 – Discover Jaipur

Explore Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar. You can also spend some time in Jaipur's local markets looking for textiles, handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs.

Day 6 – Jaipur to Delhi

After breakfast, travel back to Delhi. Depending on your flight schedule, you can be dropped at your hotel or Delhi airport for your onward journey.

When to Go and What It Costs

October through March is generally a comfortable time to explore the Golden Triangle. The weather is more suitable for sightseeing and walking around forts, monuments, and markets. May and June can be quite hot, so travelers visiting during these months should plan outdoor activities accordingly.

The six-day Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur tour from YoYo Trips India starts at $184 per person. The package includes accommodation, daily breakfast, private air-conditioned transportation, English-speaking guides, sightseeing, and airport transfers. Some expenses, such as monument entrance fees and personal purchases, may be separate.

Prices can vary depending on travel dates, hotel category, and specific requirements, so it is always a good idea to confirm the details before booking.

Hi everyone,

I’m researching ideas for celebrating New Year’s Eve in Thailand and would love to hear recommendations from travellers who have experienced it.

Thailand seems like a great choice for a New Year holiday because it offers different types of celebrations depending on your travel style. Some places are perfect for beach parties, while others are better for cultural experiences, luxury stays, or a more relaxed atmosphere.

Some destinations I’m considering:

Bangkok – Great for fireworks, rooftop celebrations, river cruises, and a big city countdown experience.

Phuket – A good option for beach celebrations, resorts, nightlife, and island activities.

Koh Samui – Ideal for couples and travellers looking for luxury resorts, beaches, and romantic experiences.

Chiang Mai – Perfect for those who prefer culture, temples, markets, and a quieter New Year atmosphere.

Krabi and Koh Phi Phi – Great for beautiful scenery, island hopping, and relaxing beach experiences.

While researching different celebration ideas, I found GenZ Travel’s New Year’s Eve in Thailand guide useful for comparing destinations, activities, and travel options:

https://genztravel.co.uk/new-years-eve-in-thailand/

I would love to hear from experienced travellers:

• Which place would you recommend for New Year’s Eve in Thailand?
• Is it better to celebrate in a city or on an island?
• Are there any hidden gems that are worth visiting during this period?

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Every family’s journey to Bangkok has a different story. For some, it is a long-awaited holiday a chance to explore the city, discover new places, and spend meaningful time together. For others, the visit may be for a routine health check-up, medical appointment, recovery period, or to accompany a loved one receiving care.

Whatever brings the family to Bangkok, having a spacious and comfortable place to stay can make the entire experience feel easier.

Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok, Sukhumvit 50 offers residence-style accommodation where families can settle in and enjoy the everyday comforts of home, whether staying for a few nights or an extended period.

You can choose from spacious studios and one-, two-, or three-bedroom residences. The larger residences offer separate bedrooms, generous living and dining areas, kitchen facilities, and dedicated workspaces giving everyone room to spend time together while still enjoying personal space and privacy.

For families enjoying a holiday, the extra space creates a relaxing home base after a day of exploring Bangkok. Parents can prepare simple meals in the kitchen, children have space to unwind, and everyone can gather comfortably in the living area to share the day’s experiences.

The same thoughtful layout can be especially reassuring for guests visiting Bangkok for health check-ups or medical care. Separate bedrooms provide a peaceful place to rest, while the living area and kitchen make it easier to maintain a familiar daily routine throughout the stay. Accompanying family members can also remain close by without everyone feeling confined to a conventional hotel room.

The property is located in the Sukhumvit 50 neighbourhood, with a complimentary shuttle service to BTS On Nut and station and Lotus’s On Nut. This provides convenient connections to shopping destinations, business districts, city attractions, hospitals, and medical centres across Bangkok.

Guests can also enjoy a saltwater swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, all-day dining at Bistro M, and pet-friendly accommodation for those travelling with their beloved pets.

Whether the journey is for a family holiday, a routine health check-up, medical care, or an extended stay stay in Bangkok, Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok, Sukhumvit 50 offers the space, privacy, and everyday comfort that allow families to feel more at home. For More information :

For digital nomads, choosing the right place to stay is about more than finding a comfortable room. It is about having a space where you can work productively, enjoy your own routine, and experience the city without feeling like you are constantly living out of a suitcase.

Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok, Sukhumvit 101 offers a comfortable residence-style setting for digital nomads visiting Bangkok, whether for a short stay or an extended period.

The spacious accommodation provides dedicated areas for working, relaxing, and dining, along with a fully equipped kitchen that makes everyday living much more convenient. You can prepare your own meals, settle into a comfortable work routine, and unwind in a space that feels more like a private home than a standard hotel room.

When it is time to step away from the laptop, guests can recharge at the saltwater swimming pool, maintain their routine at the 24-hour fitness centre, or enjoy all-day dining at Bistro M.

The location is another advantage. The property is close to BTS Punnawithi, offering convenient connections to Bangkok’s business districts, cafés, shopping destinations, and attractions. Ever dreamed of walking on powder-soft beaches in the morning and shopping in a buzzing night market by evening? Thailand makes that happen — and for Nepali travelers, it's closer and easier than you'd think.

Known as the "Land of Smiles," Thailand welcomes you with golden temples, tropical islands, mouth-watering street food, and some of the warmest hospitality in Asia. Whether you're planning a family getaway, a honeymoon, or a trip with friends, this 5-day, 4-night Thailand tour package covers the very best of Pattaya and Bangkok — without the stress of planning it all yourself.

Why Thailand Should Be on Your List

Thailand isn't just one experience it's many. You get ancient Buddhist temples steeped in history, clear blue waters perfect for a lazy afternoon, and cities that come alive at night with lights, food stalls, and music. Add to that friendly locals, affordable prices, and a culture that's easy to fall in love with, and you'll understand why this small Southeast Asian country has become a favorite escape for travelers everywhere.

A Day-by-Day Look at Your Journey

Day 1 – Welcome to Thailand
Your adventure begins the moment you land in Bangkok. After a warm welcome, you'll be driven straight to the seaside city of Pattaya, enjoying scenic views along the way. Check into your hotel, relax, and soak in the coastal vibe of your first night.

Day 2 – Coral Island Adventure
Hop on a speedboat to Koh Larn, better known as Coral Island. Think white sand, turquoise water, and a peaceful, tropical mood. If you're the adventurous type, try parasailing, snorkeling, or jet skiing before heading back for a relaxed evening in Pattaya.

Day 3 – Onward to Bangkok
Say goodbye to Pattaya and travel to Bangkok, stopping to visit two remarkable temples along the way Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) and the Golden Buddha Temple. Once you arrive, settle in and explore Bangkok's shopping streets and riverside dining spots.

Day 4 – A Day That's All Yours
This is your free day to do exactly what excites you a wildlife park visit, a floating market tour, a river dinner cruise, or simply shopping in Bangkok's malls. It's flexible, so you shape the day around your interests.

Day 5 – Farewell, Thailand
After breakfast, it's time to head to the airport with memories that'll last far longer than the trip itself.

What's Included (and What's Not)

Your package covers 4 nights in comfortable hotels, daily breakfast, the Coral Island excursion with lunch, a guided Bangkok city and temple tour, all transfers, and an English-speaking guide throughout. Things like international flights, visa fees, optional activities, and personal expenses aren't included, so you can plan your budget accordingly.

A Little Cultural Respect Goes a Long Way

Thailand is deeply rooted in Buddhist tradition, so simple courtesies matter dress modestly at temples, remove your shoes before entering, and avoid pointing your feet at Buddha statues or people. A little respect for local customs makes your trip smoother and far more meaningful.

When to Go and What It Costs

The best time to visit is between November and March, when the weather is cool, dry, and perfect for both sightseeing and beach days. As for the visa, Nepali citizens need a Thai tourist visa in advance either through the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu or via e-Visa, since visa-on-arrival isn't available for Nepali passport holders.

This complete 5-day, 4-night package is priced at just USD $122 per person, making it one of the most accessible international trips you can book from Nepal.

Let Mercy Holidays Handle the Rest

Planning an international trip can feel overwhelming visas, transport, hotels, itineraries. That's exactly where Mercy Holidays steps in. From visa assistance to airport pickups, guided tours to 24/7 support during your trip, everything is taken care of so you can simply enjoy the journey.

So, are you ready to trade your daily routine for sunny beaches and golden temples?

I’m planning a group trip from Edmonton and have been looking into different charter bus options. It made me realize that choosing a bus company isn’t just about finding the cheapest price.

For a group trip, I think it’s worth looking at things like driver experience, vehicle condition, seating comfort, luggage space, scheduling flexibility, safety, and onboard amenities. It can also be helpful to check whether the company regularly serves your planned route.I recently came across this guide about choosing a charter bus service in Edmonton, and I found it useful because it breaks down some of the things to consider before booking:

https://gocoach.ca/best-charter-bus-service-in-edmonton/

For those who have arranged group transportation in Edmonton before, what factors mattered most to you when choosing a bus company? Was it price, comfort, reliability, reviews, or something else?

For a first visit to Seoul, I would avoid trying to cover neighborhoods on opposite sides of the city in one day. A simple route that moves in one direction is much easier:

1. Gyeongbokgung Palace — arrive in the morning before the grounds become busy. Allow about 1.5–2 hours if you want to see more than the main courtyard.

2. Bukchon Hanok Village — walk from the palace area, but remember that this is a residential neighborhood. Keep voices low and avoid blocking doorways for photos.

3. Insadong — a practical lunch stop for Korean food, tea houses and traditional shops. The main street is easy to walk, while the smaller lanes are usually more interesting.

4. Myeongdong — continue here for shopping, street food and easy access to the next stop. It is busiest in the evening, so arriving in the late afternoon works well.

5. N Seoul Tower — finish around sunset if the weather is clear. Check visibility before going up; on a hazy day, spending more time in the neighborhoods may be better than paying for the observatory.

A few practical tips:
• Wear comfortable shoes because the route still includes a lot of walking.
• Save Korean place names in Naver Map or KakaoMap rather than relying only on Google Maps.
• Do not schedule a fixed tower time immediately after the palace; queues and meal times vary.
• If you prefer a slower day, drop either Myeongdong or the tower.

I put the full route, suggested timing and first-visit details together here:

Disclosure: this is my own Korea travel guide. I’m sharing it because the route may help first-time visitors; the key itinerary is included above so the post is still useful without opening the link.
