Hello everyone, I’ve found this forum to be very helpful. You have pointed out the many mistakes I’ve made planning my previous trip andfor the most part I have listened and improved my previous travel plans. For that I am grateful and that’s why i have returned. I’m planning an even more ambitious trip and would like your advice, please. So far I have only purchased and/or reserved a few things. I have a one way ticket from Los Angeles to Amsterdam. I don’t have a return flight. At the moment The only hotel I plan on booking before arriving in Europe will be the first few days in Amsterdam September 6 to 9, and Munich September 20 to 23 because the prices and low availability because of Oktoberfest.
For the rest of the trip, I want to try and travel as freely as possible. That way I am not constrained to a time limit in each location. My goal is to travel as I please spending as much time as I like in each region without feeling rushed and if I spent too much time in one region, at the same time I obviously I won’t have enough time for other later regions if I overstay the earlier ones, because I do not want to stay in Europe much longer than four weeks, and of course money is not unlimited. I’m hoping that there will be plenty of availability and most of the places excluding Munich because I’m assuming September will be much less busy therefore hotels will not be fully booked.
I plan on using public transportation, etc. from Amsterdam until the Rhine River area where I will pick up a rental car from SixT and then return it immediately when I arrive in Munich and then pick it up again a few days later when I’m leaving Munich and then I will keep the car until I arrive in Venice, Italy, where I will spend my last three or four days without the car
Speaking of how much time I will spend in each region, I didn’t add number of days or dates next to most of the regions because I don’t want to limit myself, but I do have an idea of how long I will stay in each region based off some research I did, but I am open to suggestions and recommendations. I am open to changes of all kinds. Open to any and all advice.

For the rest of the trip, I want to try and travel as freely as possible. That way I am not constrained to a time limit in each location. My goal is to travel as I please spending as much time as I like in each region without feeling rushed and if I spent too much time in one region, at the same time I obviously I won’t have enough time for other later regions if I overstay the earlier ones, because I do not want to stay in Europe much longer than four weeks, and of course money is not unlimited. I’m hoping that there will be plenty of availability and most of the places excluding Munich because I’m assuming September will be much less busy therefore hotels will not be fully booked.
I plan on using public transportation, etc. from Amsterdam until the Rhine River area where I will pick up a rental car from SixT and then return it immediately when I arrive in Munich and then pick it up again a few days later when I’m leaving Munich and then I will keep the car until I arrive in Venice, Italy, where I will spend my last three or four days without the car
Speaking of how much time I will spend in each region, I didn’t add number of days or dates next to most of the regions because I don’t want to limit myself, but I do have an idea of how long I will stay in each region based off some research I did, but I am open to suggestions and recommendations. I am open to changes of all kinds. Open to any and all advice.
