Visiting Bali in a few days, and it's my first time: What's actually worth paying for?

I’m visiting Bali in a few days, and it’s my first time. So I’m trying to figure out what’s actually worth spending money on.

There are so many tours, activities, beach clubs, day trips, etc., that I’m a bit confused, and I don’t want to end up paying for things that are just hyped up on social media. Secondly, I seriously believe in quality over quantity, so rather than fitting into everything, I would prefer to visit fewer places, but they have to be memorable.

For those who’ve been to Bali, what did you genuinely think was worth the money? And was there anything you’d say I should skip?

Would love to hear what you guys actually enjoyed and would do again.

I’d definitely go for fewer things and enjoy them properly.I've been to Bali a couple of times, and if I am honest some of my best experiences there were not even the costly ones.

A private driver for the day is definitely worth it if you want to visit a few spots without having to stress about transport.. I also really enjoyed doing a good temple + nature day, rather than trying to squeeze five or six attractions into one day.

For beach clubs, I’d probably pick one good one instead of going to several. Some are more about the atmosphere and photos than the actual experience.

I’d also skip booking every activity you see on Instagram. A few looked amazing online but felt pretty underwhelming in person. Leave some free time in your itinerary too — wandering around, finding a nice café or just enjoying where you’re staying can end up being the most memorable part.

And if you’re looking for a more quality-focused Bali package rather than trying to organise everything yourself, EaseOnTrip might be worth checking out. They can help put together the flights, stay and experiences based on what you actually want from the trip.
