I’ve been thinking about where to go in April, and it actually feels like one of the best months for a sunny trip.
Last year they went to Portugal in April and said it was just right. Warm enough to sit by the ocean, walk around all day, but not packed like summer. Another friend chose Morocco and came back saying it already felt like proper summer there, just without the crowds.
I also once did a short April trip to Spain, and what stayed with me most was how calm everything felt. You could actually enjoy places without rushing or waiting in lines.
That’s kind of why April works so well. You get the sun, but still keep that relaxed vibe.

A few small things I’ve learned:
- don’t expect super warm sea everywhere yet
- cities are great this time, not too hot for walking
- it’s a nice month for slower trips, cafés, local spots
If you’re chasing sun but don’t want crazy summer crowds, this list of Top April Travel Destinations for Sunshine Seekers
actually makes a lot of sense.
What I liked is that it mixes closer spots and proper warm getaways. Think places like Spain, Portugal, Morocco, even tropical ones like Thailand or Bali where April is already hot and sunny. In many of these, temps sit around 20–30°C, which is perfect for walking around without melting.
