Last summer, a friend shared photos from northern Pakistan, and I was surprised by how green and lively everything looked. While many places are dealing with intense heat, areas like Swat and Kalam become popular escapes with cool mountain weather and local celebrations.
One event that caught my attention was the Kalam Summer Festival. It usually takes place during July and August and brings together music, traditional dances, handicrafts, sports, and outdoor activities in the beautiful Kalam Valley. It has become a favorite summer gathering for both locals and visitors.
Pakistan also has a rich art scene. If you enjoy culture, museums such as the Lok Virsa Museum showcase traditional clothing, crafts, music, pottery, and folk heritage from different regions of the country.
Food was probably my favorite thing to learn about. Summer tables often include fresh mangoes, grilled kebabs, biryani, and sweet treats like kulfi. Every region seems to have its own special flavors.
What I like most about travel to Pakistan is the mix of mountain landscapes, old traditions, colorful markets, and friendly people. If you're thinking about a future travel to Pakistan, summer can be a great time to experience local festivals, art, and amazing food all in one trip.
