What type of clothes are needed in Shimla in March?

Shimla can get cold without any prior warning. So be sure to bring warm wool clothing such as jackets, sweaters, scarves and shawls. In summer: light clothes and some warm clothes are best at night.

I’m new to this forum and came across this thread while planning my trip to Shimla in March. I’ve been there once before, and I can definitely agree with you—it can get chilly without warning! I found layering with a good sweater or a cozy shawl is a must.

I completely agree with bringing warm wool clothing to Shimla in March. I visited last year, and the weather can change in a snap! I remember thinking I’d be fine with just a light jacket, but I ended up layering on sweaters and scarves to stay cozy. For shoes, I wore my melissa shoes during the trip—they were perfect! They're stylish but also comfortable enough for all the walking and exploring. Plus, they're easy to clean, which is a bonus when you're trekking around the hills. So, if you’re packing for Shimla, definitely throw in some warm layers and consider a pair of shoes. They kept my feet happy, and I think they’d be great for anyone heading there.
