1) Pune Caves – Home to stunningly beautiful caves, this site is well worth visiting if you're in the area. It's only about an hour away from Pune.
2) Pandavleni Wildlife Sanctuary – This sanctuary houses a wide variety of animals, including lions, tigers, leopards, elephants, camels, and more. You can also see various birds here, such as peacocks and ibises. The sanctuary is located around 83 kilometers from Pune City Center.
3) Shaniwar Wada Palace – Built by Shivaji Raje Bhosale in 1639-1648 AD, this palace was once one of the most impressive buildings in India due to its intricate architecture and lavish decorations. Today it's open for visitors free of charge except for Mondays when it opens at 4 pm onwards for guided tours ( tickets can be booked online ). It takes around 1 1/2 hours to travel there from Pune using public transportation or car rental services.
4) Mahalaxmi Temple Complex - One of the busiest tourist destinations in Maharashtra state, Mahalaxmi Temple Complex spans over 5 hectares and contains several iconic Hindu religious structures like Elephanta Caves, Yaksha Dahan Mandir, etc. Entry into these temples is usually through long queues during peak season.
