Vietnam Tours – Just as Vinh unveiled its newly upgraded airport on January 31 – now a fully-fledged international airport – Vietjet’s ten millionth passenger coincidentally landed in the capital of Nghe An province in north central Vietnam. The airline is celebrating this milestone achievement after only three years of operations.

The lucky passenger was Ms. Kang Jeong Hee – a Korean businesswoman who flew on flight VJ270 from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh. She will enjoy complimentary flights with Vietjet for a whole year.

Attending an event to mark the occasion were delegates from the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, Airports Corporation of Vietnam, and Nghe An province’s authorities.

To celebrate flying 10 million passengers, Vietjet is also running a daily promotion on all domestic and international routes.

Viejet has also opened sales on two new routes: Hanoi – Quy Nhon and Ho Chi Minh City – Dong Hoi in January 2015. Customers can avail of incredible fares for these routes with online bookings.

“I feel so lucky to be Vietjet’s ten millionth passenger!” said Ms. Kang Jeong Hee. “I chose to fly with this airline as I read about the airline’s new and modern aircraft, reasonable prices, and flexible flight schedules.

As Vietjet is now expanding its flight network across Vietnam and the region, especially to major destinations in South Korea, I will book all my business and tourism flights with Vietjet. I look forward to the airline further developing so it can offer even more incredible flying opportunities to everyone.”

Speaking at the event, Mr. Desmond Lin – Business Development Director of Vietjet, said, “Vinh International Airport boasts excellent facilities and an attractive, modern design that will facilitate growing transportation demands for Nghe An Province and contribute to the economic development of the whole north central region.

“In the future Vietjet is committed to adding routes and boosting the flight frequency of existing flights to Vinh City to meet increasing travel demand. Our HCMC-Vinh connection has already facilitated tourism and trade growth between both destinations. Meanwhile, we are delighted to have flown 10 million passengers and look forward to flying millions more in coming years.”

With a fleet of 20 Airbus A320 aircraft, Vietjet now operates 150 flights per day, transporting ten million passengers on approximately 60,000 flights in just over three years.

The airline now operates 28 local and international routes across the country and the region. The airline flies from Vietnam to Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia. The airline is also actively planning to expand its international flight network across the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
