Thinking of relocating to Eastern Europe. Any advice?

Hi everyone!
I'm currently researching options for relocating and running my online business from abroad. I’ve been looking into countries in Eastern Europe. Places like Romania and Bulgaria seem to offer low costs of living and simplified business registration.

Does anyone have any experiences with these countries? I’m still in the planning stage and open to other recommendations too.
Thanks in advance :)

Romania and Bulgaria are definitely solid picks — affordable living, decent internet, and growing expat communities. Romania in particular has great tech infrastructure and some beautiful spots like Cluj or Brașov if you prefer smaller cities.

Cost-wise, Romania and Bulgaria are nearly identical—around $940/month for basics. Rent’s ~$430 in cities. Bulgaria edges out with a 10% corporate tax vs Romania’s 16%. Both have EU market access, but neither offers a digital nomad visa yet. Romania’s slightly better English (31% vs 25%) if that matters for daily stuff.

Internet’s cheap in both (~$9-13/month) and reliable in cities. Healthcare’s okay urban, sketchier rural. Buddy in Bucharest says bureaucracy’s manageable if you hire a local lawyer (~$200).

Estonia’s pricier but has e-Residency for easy biz setup. Hungary’s tax rates compete, Poland/Czechia have better infrastructure but higher costs.

I moved to Bulgaria last year and sorting out the paperwork for my business was way easier than I expected. I used https://yourcompanyformations.co.uk to set things up before the move, and it saved me a ton of hassle with UK admin and tax stuff. If you're keeping ties with the UK, they can help you keep everything above board while living abroad.
