I've been traveling solo for a few years now and Hawaii was amazing.
November 1st-10th (Shoulder Season):
Pleasant weather with less rain than winter, good for hiking and swimming. Shoulder season means fewer crowds and potentially better deals on flights and accommodation.
Cons: November is the start of hurricane season (though major storms are rare). Ocean conditions might be choppier than February.
February 17th-27th (Winter):
Generally calmer seas, ideal for snorkeling and diving. Whale watching season starts in December and peaks in February.
Cons: Winter is the wettest season with the highest chance of rain. It's also peak tourist season, so expect more crowds and potentially higher prices.
Given your preferences:
Since you love hiking, swimming, and exploring towns, November seems like a good fit. You'll get decent weather for all your activities, potentially save some money, and avoid the peak tourist crowds.
