It's no coincidence that Pongour Waterfall is affectionately known by locals as "Nam Thien De Nhat Thac" (The Greatest Waterfall of the Southern Sky). Nestled amidst the pristine mountains and forests of Lam Dong province, this waterfall is not only a natural wonder but also a cultural and historical symbol of the highlands.

Instead of cascading directly from above, Pongour's water flows gracefully across seven natural stone tiers, creating a scene that is both majestic and poetic. Each tier of the waterfall evokes a different emotion, from powerful and torrential to gentle and serene. Surrounding the waterfall is a diverse ecosystem of primary forest, providing fresh air and a feeling of absolute relaxation for visitors.

The Legend of Strength and Loyalty

Pongour Waterfall is not only beautiful but also carries within it the legendary tale of the K'Ho chieftain, Kanai. The story tells of the beautiful and talented Kanai who tamed four giant rhinoceroses, working with the villagers to clear land and build their village. When she passed away, the four rhinoceroses were saddened and also died. From the place where she was laid to rest, a majestic waterfall sprang up, symbolizing strength, loyalty, and the harmony between humans and nature.
