While the United States has over 400 national park sites (including 63 declared national parks), not all of them are free to visit; approximately 108 sites, including the famed Grand Canyon National Park and Yosemite National Park, require admission fees ranging from $5 to $35 or more. However, there are specific days of the year when you can enter the national parks of the United States for free!
In 2023, there will be five days with no entrance fees to US National Parks:
16th January; in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
22nd April; to mark the first day of National Park Week.
4th of August; to celebrate Great American Outdoors Day.
23rd September; to observe National Public Lands Day.
11th November; in honor of Veteran’s Day
