Hey guys - my friends and I have been making plans to visit a few cities in the USA. We've created a handful of whatsapp groups to keep track of restaurants to visit, tourist sites to see, etc, but are looking for a tool to be a bit
https://www.viberate.com/music-analytics/spotify-analytics/ more organized. I've looked at a few tools like TripAdvisor (not bad, but it's less designed to compile ideas and moreso designed to save and eventually buy tours), Wanderlist (half-assed at best), and TripIt (also not bad, but moreso for creating solid itineraries than any
zumba on demand kind of idea storage).
What do you guys use? Are there any niche apps out there that could store location-specific notes on restaurants and sites and tours and hyperlinks and all that fun stuff?
Organizing a trip with friends can be a fun experience, and there are several tools that can help you coordinate and plan your travel itinerary while keeping track of restaurant recommendations, tourist sites, and more. Here are a few options:
1. Google Docs/Sheets/Keep:
- Google's suite of productivity tools can be quite handy. You can create a Google Docs document or Google Sheets spreadsheet to collaboratively list restaurants, sites, and activities. Google Keep can be used to store quick notes and ideas.
2. Evernote:
- Evernote is a versatile note-taking app that allows you to create notebooks for different cities or aspects of your trip. You can add text, links, images, and create to-do lists.
3. Trello:
- Trello is a project management tool, but it's also great for organizing trip details. Create cards for each restaurant, site, or activity and move them between lists like "To Visit," "Visited," or "Booked."
4. Pinterest:
- Pinterest is excellent for visual trip planning. Create boards for each city and pin restaurant recommendations, tourist sites, and more.
5. Notion:
- Notion is a highly customizable tool that can serve as a digital workspace. You can create databases, wikis, and pages for each city with notes, links, and images.
6. Airtable:
- Airtable is like a combination of a spreadsheet and a database, and it's excellent for organizing information. You can create tables for restaurants, sites, and tours.
7. Tripadvisor Lists:
- While you mentioned TripAdvisor, their "Lists" feature is useful for compiling recommendations and can be shared with friends.
8. PlanChat:
- PlanChat is designed for collaborative trip planning and offers features for creating itineraries, sharing recommendations, and messaging with your travel group.
9. Sygic Travel:
- Sygic Travel allows you to create trip itineraries, including places to visit, eat, and stay. It also has a collaborative feature to plan with friends.
10. City-specific Apps: Depending on the cities you plan to visit, some cities have their own apps for tourists that can provide valuable information and tips.
Consider your specific needs, the preferences of your travel group, and the features that matter most to you when choosing a tool. Additionally, ensure that the tool allows for easy collaboration and sharing within your group. Hope this helps
