Last week, we traveled to Tanzania for the first time, a trip recommended by my coworker, and it was nothing short of magical. Our 7-day journey with Safari Stride through the Serengeti, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, and Lake Natron is one we will cherish forever. We were a group of five, celebrating my mother’s 70th birthday along with my two daughters. The way the hotel staff and fellow travelers celebrated her birthday in the Serengeti is something we’ll never forget—it was such a special and heartwarming moment.
During our adventure, we also visited a Maasai village, where we enjoyed traditional dances and got a glimpse into their vibrant culture, adding even more depth to our connection with Tanzania.
From the moment we began planning, the Safari Stride team made everything seamless and special. We coordinated through calls and WhatsApp, and they were always so thoughtful and responsive, ensuring every detail was perfect.
Our safari was beyond our wildest dreams. Our guide, Good Luck, was incredible—thanks to him, we got to witness almost all of the Big Five. We missed the elusive leopard, but the three rhinos we saw more than made up for it, along with witnessing the unforgettable sight of a lioness on the hunt and the breathtaking migration of wildebeests. After long, exhilarating days in the savannah, we returned to lodges that were handpicked with care, always greeted with warmth and comfort. One night in particular stands out—dining under the stars in the heart of the Serengeti, with the sounds of the wild and fairy lights twinkling above us. It was surreal.
To top it off, we spent a night with the Sonjo tribe, experiencing their culture firsthand, which made our connection to Tanzania even deeper.
We also decided to include a restful escape to Zanzibar, and Safari Stride arranged it beautifully. We began with two nights there before the safari, which gave us time to relax and unplug, and returned afterward for a week of pure serenity. The accommodations—Villa Malaika and Baladin—were beyond perfect, offering stunning beauty and the warmest hospitality.
This trip was a dream come true, thanks to Safari Stride, and it’s something we’ll never forget for the rest of my life. If you're seeking a safari experience that’s both adventurous and deeply personal, I can’t recommend them enough.
