Badrinath
dhaam is considered as one of the most sacred centres of pilgrimage situated in the lofty Himalayan heights in the Tehri-Garhwal hill tracks (Uttarakhand) at the height of 10,248 feet above sea level. The route to Badrinath is one of the most arduous one due to the lofty hilly terrain, curves and cliffs amidst the most scenically beautiful place on the earth.

Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the devout Hindu. It is set amidst the stunning mountainscape of the Garhwal Himalayas at the head of the Mandakini River. Kedar is another name of lord Shiva, the protector & the destroyer. Shiva is considered the embodiment of all passions - love, hatred, fear, death & mysticism which are expressed through his various forms.

I heard from my travel agent that helicopters are no longer being booked- is this true?
Hi Ensafeindia,

No, this is not true. You can book helicopter to reach Badrinath and Kedarnath. It's the most convenient way to reach Badrinath and Kedarnath, and its best for the people who are unable to travel the long trek route. If you wish to book helicopter, you can find more details here - Kedarnath helicopter booking and Badrinath helicopter booking

Char Dham Yatra starts from Yamunotri, then goes to Gangotri, and finally reaches Kedarnath and Badrinath. Each of these four sites is dedicated.
