Are pre-booked taxis cheaper in India

Can anyone recommend a reliable and reasonable taxi company for some journeys in Rajasthan later this month (September)? Is it cheaper to book in advance or is there a pretty standard rate?
Thank you to anyone who can help. I've tried a few by googling online to get quotes but one couldn't find the address I want to go to, another couldn't send me an OTP etc. .

When traveling in Rajasthan, finding a reliable and reasonable taxi company can make your journey much smoother. Rajasthan has a variety of taxi services, both local and app-based, offering cars for short and long journeys. For a reliable experience, it’s always a good idea to look for local taxi operators who specialize in tourism, as they often have knowledgeable drivers who are familiar with key attractions and routes.

In terms of cost, it’s usually more economical to book in advance, especially for long trips or full-day hires. Booking ahead allows you to negotiate rates and ensure the availability of a vehicle, especially during peak tourist seasons like September. However, for shorter trips within cities, the rates tend to be fairly standard and competitive.

For instance, while staying at Daman hotels, I found that booking a taxi in advance helped save time and offered a better deal than arranging one on the spot. Similarly, in Rajasthan, advance booking can give you peace of mind and potentially lower prices compared to last-minute arrangements. Always check reviews and confirm the pricing before committing to a booking.

Thank you very much Mrunal for such a helpful reply. Are there any taxi companies you would recommend in Rajasthan ( - so many come up if you google it that it's impossible to tell what's local), or do you think the places we stay will be best placed to recommend local drivers?
